\nBritish real estate company Savills ranked the 15 best places in the world for long-term remote work. The ranking was based on variables such as weather, rent and internet speed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Digital nomadism has become a common phenomenon since the corona epidemic, but not everywhere in the world is comfortable to work. According to a new study by the British real estate company Savills, the city of Lisbon is the most convenient place to work remotely. The combination of the comfortable weather and the relatively low cost of living make the capital of Portugal an ideal destination for those who can work from anywhere in the world.
\nSavills ranked 15 places in the world according to their attractiveness for remote working, based on variables such as climate, rents, access and internet speed.
\nThe high internet speed attracts foreigners to work in Lisbon, and they are willing to pay more than twice as much as local buyers for an apartment in the city, according to Portugal’s Bureau of Statistics. Ricardo Garcia, director of residential real estate at Saviles in the city, said that he expects many more workers to continue to arrive in the city, which will strengthen its position as a high-tech center. “Companies are moving their offices to Portugal,” he said. “The area has become more and more international, and I I don’t see Lisbon or Portugal slowing down anytime soon”.<\/p>\n

The digital nomads<\/a> are also drawn to the Algarve<\/a> in southern Portugal, which came in fourth place in the Savills ranking thanks to its favorable weather, beaches and easy access to other places in Europe.<\/p>\n

“People are making their holiday homes more permanent,” says James Robinson, sales director at QP Savills, the Savills agency in the Algarve. “Clients are looking for office space, which was not once on the agenda, and high speed internet, which we have here”.<\/p>\n

Miami ranks second after Lisbon, thanks to tax benefits and low interest rates. Dubai ranks third. In fifth place is Barbados, followed by Barcelona and Dubrovnik in Croatia. No Asian city was included in the ranking.
