Our story
Our love story with Portugal began in 2011 when Yehonatan Gourvitch (CEO of Casa Portugal) and his partner moved to live in Lisbon.
Lisbon was very different back then, an ancient city at the edge of Europe, a city that had seen better days. There were few tourists in the city, mostly Europeans for whom Lisbon was a well-kept secret. Lisbon had many abandoned buildings, closed businesses, homeless people in the streets, and an overall pessimistic feeling as if time had stood still.
However, Lisbon had its charm – the beauty, the tranquility – and it was love at first sight.
With the economic crisis in 2013, Lisbon began to transform. Something started to shift, initially very slowly, but over time it became increasingly evident – Lisbon was awakening. Suddenly, more tourists, immigrants, and foreign students arrived. Foreign investments began to flow in. The promising tech scene started to grow. An entrepreneurial spirit began to blow. Businesses were established. Restaurants, hotels, clubs, cafes, bars, and numerous diverse real estate opportunities opened up in the local market.
Past experience in carpentry and light construction led us to be involved in several projects in Lisbon and its surroundings. From there, we progressed to real estate entrepreneurship and investment management. Over time, the business grew, and in recent years, it has evolved into a family business, with additional family members relocating to Lisbon and joining in the management of the business.
Casa Portugal is part of the YGI Group, which holds real estate assets in Portugal. Casa Portugal specializes in real estate entrepreneurship in the Lisbon metropolitan area, operating in various segments of the real estate industry.
The group also owns MAVEN, a company that provides property management and project management services to foreign investors in Portugal. MAVEN serves clients from different countries worldwide, primarily from Israel and Brazil.
Our team consists of professionals in various fields, including legal editing, project management, architecture, real estate brokerage, and more, both from Israel and locally. We are actively engaged in collaboration with the Israel-Portugal Chamber of Commerce, aiming to promote business cooperation between our beloved countries.
Through our legal department, we offer various legal services related to real estate, representation and interaction with local authorities in Portugal, relocation services in Portugal, and more. Additionally, in collaboration with local partners, the group also owns a construction and renovation company, enabling us to provide comprehensive solutions to our clients.
Today, with two children and a thriving business, we enjoy living and working here. It is exciting to witness a growing and evolving city, and we are pleased to be a part of the transformation it undergoes. Lisbon is now a significant and vibrant European capital, leading the impressive development of Portugal. Lisbon’s success radiates optimism to its residents and influences its entire metropolitan area.

With over forty years of experience, Itamar Gourvitch has been involved in entrepreneurship, management, planning, design, production, marketing, and organization of a wide and diverse range of projects in the cultural world.
In 2021, he joined the office and has since been a partner contributing to the company's advancement and development.

In 2019, she received an invitation to relocate to the company's branch in the United States, providing guidance in management and finance to the local team. Worked at 4EN Saude, overseeing the implementation and operation of the management and financial system.
Sara Cohen
She has been employed by SRU Ocidental (Sociedade de Reabilitação Urbana) in the neighborhoods of Ajuda and Belém in Lisbon, contributing to architectural projects. She has been a member of the Architects' Association, SRS Lisboa - Portugal since 2006.
