Unmissable!A LITTLE HISTORY OF THE ARK OF WATER GARDEN:The Arca D'Água Garden where underneath you hides a large Ark full of secrets and pieces of the city's history, is situated in a noble area, very close to the city center of Porto, next to the University Pole of St. John, almost leaning against the VCI through which it can be easily accessed.Arca D'Água reminds us of the time when, from this site, the aqueduct or spring of Paranhos or spring of the Three Fountains of Paranhos (various designations used), in the background, from this large "water box", were built granite pipes, which from the seventeenth century were going to feed a whole network of fountains and fountains of water distribution throughout the city, until the end of the nineteenth century.It was also in this same space, which was almost a desert in the mid-nineteenth century, that on February 6, 1866, the duel between the poet Antero de Quental and the writer Ramalho Ortigão was fought because of the Coimbrã Question. This duel would result in an injury to Ramalho's arm.But once again, Arca D'Água is not the official denomination.
